Bluff House

It is a real house

it is also a dreamed one.

It is unfinished.

with open doors

open staircases

and open walls

but the spirit is already there

carefully designed

waiting in the dog’s niche

to come alive.

It is a two-room house

he says

its profile

holding the fire

its nose

breathing on each side

pointing

to the sky in reconciliation

Poem by Francoise Canter, written during construction

Set in natural landscaping on a bluff overlooking the Puget Sound, this home embodies the client's eco-conscious lifestyle and inspired artistic aesthetic. The design utilizes age-old Shou Sugi Ban siding, soft plaster interiors, and high efficiency systems including geothermal heating.
